Numerous paths to enlightenment
Numerous paths to enlightenment

There are numerous paths to enlightenment, and there is no right or wrong way to arrive. Going within, working on your thoughts and belief structures, and tapping into your subconscious mind are the main components. There comes a point in time when the conscious and subconscious minds merge; previously, the subconscious was hidden but still influenced your thoughts and day-to-day living.
To have greater
awareness, to me, is what enlightenment means. Meditation and daily
affirmations are two methods for gaining access to your subconscious.
Affirmations are made in the present tense, as if they have already occurred.
Use words like "I am" and "I am now" instead of "I
will be" or "Try to be." Affirmations can be applied to any
aspect of your life that you believe could benefit from improvement. Consider
your subconscious mind to be something that operates in the background on
"autopilot." Only when we begin to go within does the unknown begin
to become known.
Meditation is
essentially the act of concentrating your mind and intent on something you
want. There are no shortcuts to enlightenment; it requires years of practise
and diligence. It is about gaining control of your body, mind, and spirit and
feeling empowered as a result of this knowledge.
Because it doesn't
know any better, the ego is perfectly content for us to play the victim
throughout our lives. In some ways, our soul has to teach our ego, and this is
where many people struggle. To become enlightened does not imply ignoring our
ego in the hope that it will go away. It is about recognising our negative
emotions, balancing them, and keeping them in check. The only way to accomplish
this is with intent. We've all been in situations where we allowed others to
control our emotions and reactions. However, with time, one realises that we
have a choice in how we respond to situations.
In the universe,
there are only two emotions: love and fear. As free-willed humans, we have the
option of reacting out of love or fear. We become more in control of our
thoughts as we practise, and we are less likely to react to situations in our
lives. It is normal to be afraid, as we all do at times in our lives. The trick
is to avoid feeding the fear with negative thoughts and anger.
Being enlightened means being more aware of yourself and your surroundings. You don't suddenly become enlightened one day. It is a deliberate choice, as well as a gradual process of processing and releasing lower emotional states. In some ways, it is work because you must peel away layers of pain and hurt in order to be rewarded with a higher level of awareness. This pain may be very old, dating back to previous lifetimes or early childhood. It is, in a sense, trapped in time until we are ready to deal with it again. With the healing of old wounds, we can be rewarded with new healing and psychic abilities from the spirits.
